Family

Family? What does this look like? Many of us have family that we were born into. In the past several days I have been witness to the idea of "family" that is far beyond blood. I have taught my boy's that family are those you meet, connect with and care about. This idea has been made manifest in a huge way with friends, family and friends of both showing up in my life to show support. I am truly blessed!

Animals in Our Arsenal

Today one of my good friends sent me a text to let me know his long time friend Ivan had passed. Ivan is his cat. This animal has helped him through many hard times. Even though I was receiving a text and couldn't hear my friends voice I knew he was heart broken.

The Power of Two

This afternoon I had an appointment with a client to do a massage. This appointment had been on my calender for two weeks and I was excited to work with her again. In the mean time a good friend of mine had surgery on her hand and I have been her care taker. This left me feeling a little unsettled to keep my appointment.
I woke and prepared for the day and checked in with my friend only to find that she was in quite a bit of pain. I was torn between my previous commitment and taking care of my friend. I continued forward and headed out to my clients house. Three blocks into my drive my car started sounding like a high end motorcycle. GRRR! It has sounded like this before due to an exhaust leak, something I did NOT want to deal with today.
When arrived at my destination I explained to my client that I wasn't feeling a 100% and asked if she wanted to reschedule. Stating " I just feel like crying". She smiled at me and said " Oh my gosh this is perfect! I have been working with trusting the universe to take care of me and also feeling on the verge of tears". She suggested that we might both benefit from the session. She then giggled and added "plus I'm paying you".
We proceeded as planned and during her massage we were chatting about the things she had been working on. Her stuff was related to money, some how it crossed over to the stuff I have been clearing recently. I questioned her ability to share her skills and be seen and she questioned my trust in the universe and it's ability to provide for me. We both laughed at the idea that with all we know neither one of has asked those questions to ourselves.
WOW! How does it get any better than that?! Two amazing, bright, intelligent women assisting the other with healing. I am sooooo grateful for her asking for what she needed and opening the space for me to also grow. The power of two. Who knew?

Responsibility

There is this interesting thing labeled "responsible". In the past ten days I have tossed this word around. What being a "responsible" adult looks like. For example. I am responsible for paying bills, buying groceries, putting gas in my car, going to work and checking in with my boy's. These are all things I do willing and enjoy.
Last week there were a few things I struggled with. One of them being my blog. I questioned the "responsibility" I have to my readers. This may sound silly, yet it has been on my mind. I realized that the majority of post have been when I have had moments that needed me to reach into my arsenal of love. I have been enjoying multiple   AMAZING days, which have required little need for tools.
It occurred to me this afternoon that the AMAZING days have been something to build upon and add to my arsenal. It also occurred to me that in these moments we forget that these are things to pull from. Such as late night laughter with my friend. Early morning conversations with Cole. Sleeping in late on my days off and midnight walks. These are all things that when I forget to be grateful for them they may become lost from my arsenal.
The " responsible" piece comes in making sure that even on my good days I want to blog to share with you my friends the things that are working. The AMAZING moments of feeling balanced. The rocks that were hanging out in my pocket. The animals that cross my path that I don't normally see. The art work on my body that holds a message for me. All of these things that are just a part of my life. I will share with you so if they work for you, than add them to your arsenal.

Old School Tool

Tonight as I was driving home from work. A song came on the radio that has an attachment to a recent past love. I sat there for a minute, listening to the melody, knowing the words that would soon begin. I sat there thinking " Oh it's fine, don't change it."
All of a sudden it wasn't my voice in my head, it was my mom's. She was saying sweetly " You know Christi the phone has this really great way of working. Not only can you answer it, but you can let it ring or OR you can pick it up and place it back on the receiver. You don't even need to say hello." This was a gift into my arsenal she made over 20 years ago!
I was allowing myself to be tormented by an ex-husband. The effect his phone calls on my mind, body, and spirit I referred to as an "emotional nuclear war head". Part of me was still in a place of hope and love and with every conversation a little more of me died. My mom happened to be at my house one phone call. She took the receiver and hung it up and said " See simple"
Tonight when the radio rang my emotional bell. Well let's just say I hung up the receiver and traveled on. It is amazing to me all the little things we gather along the way that bubble up precisely when needed :D

Reality Check

There is a similar concept my sister's, my mom, and I discuss on occasion. The idea of reverting back to the time before we started our personal awakenings. Also know as the "reality check".       We will talk about the "what if's?". For example. What if we never went to the Excel classes? What if I never did massage? What if I never went to the Light Body class? What if we never made peace with our parent's? What if we never made peace with our sibling"s? What if we were unaware of the possibilities? Then we all look at each other rather confused due to the fact that none of us can even imagine what that would look like.
As odd as it may sound. I am ever so grateful for all the moments that have brought me to now. Yep, even the ones that hurt. Love you my friends!

Is Music in Your Arsenal?

This is my middle child Alex. He currently is in the Marines in Japan. I do believe I have mentioned this when speaking of the amazing tool of technology. Today while chatting on Facebook we were discussing one of his "tools"
He explained to me how listening to music that he had heard me listen to during times when I was sad helped him. Here is his explanation, which makes more sense "Well I remember you listening to it when you were always sad and it makes me think about the happy times about you Because I didn't like it when you were upset so I guess I just subconsciously kind of made it into a positive thing "
I have been wanting to add music and the power of having it in my arsenal to a blog and have put it off. In my head I saw me making a list of music in my Amazon store to refer you to. After chatting with Alex today I felt it needed to be shared. I will eventually add music and the choices I have used to help bump me from a stuck place. For now I am grateful that something I have used for as long as I can remember is serving my son while he is so far from home. Man, I LOVE THAT KID!!!!!!

Lessons of you

Sometimes life gives you the lesson first and then the experience, but every once in a while you get the experience first, and then it's up to you to figure out the lesson! Pay attention! This was the message shared this morning from Buddhist Boot Camp .
On one or more occasions I have had this exact thing occur in my life. The part about the experience first, and the lesson part being left up to me. This often feels like "madness making " to me. I will pull out my tools of "mystic powers", you know tarot cards, crystal ball, magic 8 ball. All those things that run off of your own energy that unless the T.V broadcasts it to us we can't hear haha.
Let's be honest now. I am not the only one who goes seeking for answers/lessons outside myself. I ask friends, family,my favorite intuit, the universe and if I had a magic mirror, yep I'd ask that too! The frightening thing for me sometimes is sitting down with ME and asking (ooh no way, don't do it! ) Ahhh yes me. The one person who has all the answers for what plagues my mind/body/spirit. When you are looking for a lesson. Pull out that one amazingly ,huge, fantabulous tool from your arsenal of love!!!
You of course :D

Girl Math = Abundance

Today is November 17th also known as the day I was born :D. I am in AZ with my little sis and her family. When I am here I am very well cared for and somewhat spoiled, which I love!. Today we went shoe shopping. I currently am short on shoe cash, but have an abundance of credit on my Kohl's card. My sis and I came up with a plan to get both us caught up in the flow of receiving. She pays for my shoes and I put her Kohl's shopping on my card. WIN/WIN, yep girl math, creative sharing even. Abundance for all, YIPPEE. Happy birthday me <3

Interesting Point Of View

Wow! Talked about an eye opening experience! And the ordeal begins with the news from my little sis that my guest room has moved. Uh excuse me! Did you miss the "my" in the part of my guest room?! I don't remember anyone asking my opinion on the matter and who the eff decided this was a good idea?! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yep, the whole conversation that happened in my head while my very sweet and generous baby sis was talking about the reason for the room swap.
For years now there has always been a guest room with a closet, bathroom and lovely made bed. This has been my home away from home, my retreat to escape home even. Now I have a lovely bed and a whole butt load of hurt feelings. All I heard my sis say was. "You are no longer important enough to occupy this space" okay so it was the vicious asshole that lives in my head, not my sis. Now what?
Thank my life, parents, guardians, lovers, teachers and friends for all the knowledge they have added to my arsenal of love. It is here that I found something to wipe my tears away. Well a couple things.
 1) Access Consciousness has something that is referred to as IPOV ( Interesting Point Of View). When you find yourself with an IPOV you run the clearing statement " Interesting point of view, I have this point of view ________ can we uncreate and destroy all that this is? Times a God zillion? YES! good bad right wrong pod poc all nine boys shorts and beyond" Such a great tool to have.
2) I meditate at 2100 every night with a friend and luckily this incident happened about three minutes before it was time for me to "sit quietly", which we learned from  Buddha in Blue Jeans . I focused on allowing my breath to feel me and my friend to support and love me. Moments later I felt strong enough to come back into my new guest room. How does it get any better than this? Love my sis and her gracious ways xoxo

Always remember to ask!

I do believe I brought this up last weekend. One of my favorite tools is simply to ask for what you want. The Law of Attraction speaks of asking the Universe, which I will often do. I then will do a follow up question to the people around me.
I am heading to Arizona today. I had hastily packed last night, knowing that I would be coming home from work and walking out the door to the airport. Before going to bed I said my "grateful's" for the day and asked spirit/universe/god (whomever you pray to) " I wonder what the possibility of me getting flexed off work tomorrow is?". Oooh, but wait I am in need for my friend who rides with me. Well guess what? I WAS FLEXED THREE HOURS EARLY!!!! WOOT WOOT!!!!   I am now repacked in a more leisurely fashion, blogging, and waiting patiently for my ride . Okay, so not so patiently hahaha.

Herbs, Tinctures and Essential oils

Yesterday I had the pleasure of having a new essential oil made to add to my arsenal of love. I work with a great intuit at Crone's Hollow , her name is Ravenstone. I am working on my 4th and 5th chakra's and this herb Galangal is one of the magical things in my new blend.
Medicinal Uses:
As with Ginger, the obvious uses for Galangal are as a, warming, soothing carm inative stomach ally that aids indigestion, flatulence and nausea, especially from travel sickness. But Galangal is more powerful than that. It appears to be effective in the treatment of ulcers (though some sources warn against this use) and be able to fight candida albicans. During the Middle Ages it had a reputation for heart complaints, which was long considered superstition. However, recent research has shown Galangal to be extremely effective in inhibiting platelet aggregation, which under the wrong circumstances can cause blood clots that block arteries and can lead to heart attacks. Thus, it would probably not be a good idea to use this herb excessively if one is already on blood thinning medication.

CAUTION

Do not use in conjunction with blood thinning medication

Magical Uses:

Galangal nurtures the fire within. It burns away the wishy-washy thoughts of every day affairs and is thus an excellent concentration aid that will help the practitioner to focus his or her intentions. It promotes clarity of vision and helps focusing visualizations. It is also an excellent aphrodisiac that may be useful in sex magic and tantric rituals.

BOTANICALS:

Plants nourish and feed us, add spice to our life, bestow health and beauty, scent and colour and brighten our days. They mediate love, hope and gratitude; they clothe and cleanse us, they heal and soothe our bodies, minds and souls. They touch every aspect of our existence, from our daily sustenance to the air we breathe, to the keys to other dimensions. They are the alchemists that turn sunlight into the green force of life, continuously revolving, restoring, rebirthing through the cycles of time. They truly are the greatest gift of nature, yet also the one we most take for granted.
Star Child's range of botanicals derives from many regions and traditions of the world. We supply only the best quality herbs, using organically grown and sustainably harvested sources if available. The greater the demand for organic products the more readily they will become available. Your choice to buy and our commitment to supply organic herbs is part of the driving force that sows the seeds for a greener, healthier future.

USE:

There are dozens of ways in which herbs can be used. Many culinary herbs not only impart a great flavour but also have subtle effect on the digestive process. Other herbs are more medicinal than culinary and can be used as remedies, based on the wisdom of age old traditional plant knowledge. For more detailed information on the different types of preparations that can be made with herbs, please refer to the BOTANICALS USAGE section.

Ahhh

Who doesn't need a little help every once in awhile :D

The words we say are strong

There is something I say to myself to keep from engaging in road rage. When people are trying to edge me off the road or cut me off. I smile and state out loud "Their hurry must be bigger than mine." Today while on my way to a luncheon with Cole in the car. I found myself up the back end of a vehicle and saying rather growly " WHAT the crap?!".
At this moment I looked at my son who has been battling anxiety for the past few days and saw the unease in his body. I took a deep breath and realized that my "hurry was bigger than theirs". I smiled at Cole and consciously slowed my roll so to speak. I was able to recognize by a statement I had been using for months now that my behavior was effecting those around me, including my son. How simple this concept is of trigger words and thoughts to keep oneself calm, cool and collected.

Technology in your toolbox

Today is Veteran's Day. I was able to send my middle child a text to say "Happy Veteran's Day", he is all the way in Japan. It is such an amazing thing to have technology in my toolbox! I am able to talk to Alex on Facebook,Skype, or text. What an amazing world we live in, where I can send love from little old Salt Lake all those miles to Japan in just the blink of an eye!

Gratitude

There is a theory, gratitude for what you have brings more to be grateful for. Today at work. I had the few people that knew the reason I left early yesterday asked me how my son was doing. Once again I was given the opportunity to appreciate the team of people I work with. Yep GRATITUDE! Love it

The courage to ask for assistance

What do you do when life sends an emergent situation your way? This happened to me today. While I was at work, I saw I had a missed call from my youngest son, Cole. When I called him back he was having a difficult time maintaining the calm of who he is. He burst into upset and asked me to please come home. Yikes! I still had two and half hours left to my shift.
This my friends is where I pulled out a tool I am leery of using. It's called "asking for what I need". The way it works in our family is you are always able to ask for what you need. The other part of this is that you ask with no expectations, a yes or a no and we are okay with whatever the answer. This was a tad bit difficult for me today due to I was in need of a "yes".
I called my staffing person and within minutes was returned an answer of " We are tight on staff right now, but we need to get you out the door and home." This was not a yes or no. It was a possibility and I have to admit that my heart sunk. I also began to panic. I felt helpless and my son was in need of serious support! Then the phone rang and I was told " You are two minutes away from support on the floor. Go home!"
As I type this the size of grace and compassion that was given to me and my family today is overwhelming. I have tears in my eyes as I type. Never be afraid to use this tool from your arsenal of love. The possibilities are endless as to what can show up. Soooooo grateful for the team of people I work with <3

A good day

I have been home from work for about 30 minutes now attempting to come up with something significant that I used from my arsenal of love........I am happy to say that today was an amazing day full of great co-workers and cooperative patients. I had no need for anything more than my wit and my upbeat attitude.
With this said I am choosing to share this link Buddhist Boot Camp .I am a recent fan of Timber"s. His book Buddhist Boot Camp can be found in my Amazon store. I am grateful for either way you choose to get your mind's on the information. It has been a great tool for me and the people around me. Ooops gotta run! Time to meditate. Until next time.

A call for help

I say again. There is nothing more exciting than sharing what I know with those I love, yes you all included! Earlier today I was asked by Cole to assist him in clearing some stuff he has been butting up against. Such as social anxiety, struggling to fit in on the planet and some depression.
We used our Access Consciousness tools from our arsenal of love <3! The result is, he is feeling better. While we were doing the clearing statement Cole said " I love you mom." What an amazing gift of gratitude spoken by my youngest son. Love my life and love that kid!

Wise words

Two moments

Tonight I will be mentioning two different things. One of frustration and one of gratitude. I think I will start with the frustration; It all began with me accidentally waking Cole up last night. My intention was to quietly watch a movie while he slept on the couch. Uh, this didn't happen. I couldn't hear over the space heater and had the volume up. Then I left for a few minutes and he shifted his position on the couch which meant I bumped him. That with the volume made for a super angry Cole.   At this moment I lost all skill at being a mom full of loving kindness and became very reactive.
What I am admitting here is, uh I am human. I had absolutely no grasp on my arsenal of love. In fact I think I even forgot how to breathe. I became filled with rage at all of his "blame" in my direction and his "name calling" I told him repeatedly to go ........ well you know, nothing nice or very mom like. I was very upset that I had allowed myself to be sucked into all the "rage/anger vomit" that was flowing between Cole and I.
As luck would have it (or yelling) my oldest son, Skyler came upstairs. I was able to ask him to deal with Cole. How grateful I was for his calm presence. I was given the opportunity to walk away and leave Cole with someone who could offer him some loving kindness. I was able to relocate my arsenal of love before all of the guilt and shame of my rather crappy behavior kicked in. I was able to look at the situation and recognize that I still have "buttons" to push. That I am constantly in a place of growth and improvement on my human experience.
Now for the gratitude piece. Tonight I watched "The Pursuit of Happyness". I have seen it before, years ago and remember much of it. I could recall his struggle with his relationship to his wife, money and life in general. Then the part came where he and his son were sleeping in the bathroom of the subway. Man I was hit with a truck load of GRATITUDE.
In my life I have had bad relationships, money troubles and displacement from my home. In all of these times I have had friends and family offer a couch, a couple dollars or a hug. I watched as my heart swelled with love for my boy"s and all those who have made sure that we are cared for. I am truly blessed and grateful in this moment. Love to all, christi

Tid Bit

When I was involved in my light body/shamanism class I had a facilitator pay me quite the compliment. He said " You are an alchemaic property on this planet and through you things will shift, grow and change." I welcome chaos, of course I am a Scorpio and we dig that sort of stuff  =)

Yippee!

Today is a love my life and damn my eyes are gorgeous sort of day. I am wearing my "I'm amazing panties!"all for me of course. More information about the panty revolution can be found here Who'd You Put Your Panties on for Today

Yie! That's a big SPIDER

The other morning while getting ready for work I noticed something that appeared to be a hair ball, uh NOPE! The hair ball had legs and a cute little black body. Yes, the body was cute, but it was attached to very long icky spider legs. BLECK.  Ha ha ha , have I established my love for spiders clearly?
The rule in my house is to politely address the spider with a calm voice and state the following " Well hello there. You have 3-5 minutes to make yourself unseen to me. If you are still visible after this time frame I will figure that you have a death wish." Then I leave the room for the allotted time offered. When I come back, 9 out of 10 times the spider has vanished, which is exactly what happened with this one. Well until the following morning when it appeared on my bedroom wall. This time I politely explained that when I asked it to be an unseen, I did not mean relocate to my bedroom. Once again I walked away and it disappeared.
Two sightings in 24 hours requires a look up in Animal-Speak page 344-347  Spider
KEYNOTE; Creativity and the Weaving of Fate
If spider has come into your life, ask yourself some important questions. Are you not weaving your dreams and imaginings into reality? Are you not using your creative opportunities? Are you feeling closed in or stuck as if in a web?Do you need to pay attention to your balance and where you are walking in life? Are others out of balance around you? Do you need to write? Are you inspired to write or draw and not following through? Remember that spider is the keeper of knowledge of the primordial alphabet. Spider can teach how to use the written language with power and creativity so that words weave a web around those who would read them.
The 24 hour period in which I saw my friendly little spirit messenger I was indeed feeling as if I were trapped in a web. The medication I have been taking for my shoulder pain was beginning to have one to many side effects and I felt trapped between relief and new issues. The curious thing about my little sighting. I checked in with my body and it was like " GEEZ LADY HOW MANY SIGNS DO I NEED TO SEND YOU!" . I say thank you little spider for being part of my arsenal of love (yes I prefer that term over "tool box" ). Love my world and how it all comes together <3

If you have them, share them, your tool"s that is

I realize that posting my daily experiences and how I handled them is sharing. Even listing books, rocks and snuggle buddies in my Amazon store is sharing. Let me tell you something though. When I have the opportunity to put a tangible life tool in someone's hand. YEE HAW!!!!!!!
This afternoon while eating pizza with a co-worker. She began explaining how she lived a gluten free life and the pizza most likely would let her know this. I said , hmmm have you ever heard of EFT? It is a technique that uses acupressure points and affirmations combined with light tapping on the skin. Yes! I had piqued her interest. I could tell by the confused look on her face ha ha ha. She of course said she had not heard of it, but was open to new ways to function.
Due to the fact that I am unable to put a copy of the EFT starter manual in all your hands personally as I did for her. Let me share this emofree.com . You can find information about the how of EFT, an introduction video and the starter manual. I use the very basics of this technique. When I need deeper help I find a practitioner, okay so I call my mom. She happens to be a practitioner and a great presence in my arsenal of love.

Who knew?

My original plan was to come home from work and post that I hadn't really had a need to reach into my tool bag today. Then I walked into my kitchen and low and behold. The sink that had been empty this morning was now stacked with dishes. Ugh! My blood began to boil and I felt an angry group of words rising to the surface.
I stopped, dropped mt head and thought " What the hell? Wait, you don't know the kind of day anyone else has had so let's not blow our top." I began to breathe deep intentional breaths. I called myself to the present , leaving my day behind and spoke with loving kindness (about ten breaths later) I looked up to see Cole watching me. I calmly stated " Cole , can you take care of this please?" and pointed to the side of the sink where icky water was sitting, then walked away. What do you know he moved to the issue of my frustration and cleared it up. Wow, that was much better than past experiences. Thank goodness for my tools and there instant presence :)

Halloween, who knew?

I have lived at this address for 8 plus years and never have I had sooooo many trick or treater's ! Who knew that Halloween could be a new tool in my arsenal of love? I am very excited to add the bliss of this energy to my tools!
P.S- just saw the tiniest, cutest little Elsa of the evening. What a cutie
 HAPPYY
 HALLOWEEN

Coloring outside the lines, yep it's a thing

When was the last time you sat down and colored? You know like when you were in grade school, with crayons and colored pencils? I had forgotten that in moments of frustration I would sit quietly and draw. I am in no way an artist like my little bro or even my youngest son.
I would use a charcoal pencil and paper with texture, so I could smear the lines into shade and shadows. What would I draw? Mainly women on swings or them sitting crossed legged on the ground. Not exactly sure the reason. They were easy and the human body has so many relaxing curves and shadows. What's my point?
I sat down the other night while missing a friend and drew something. When I was done I used my crayons and colored pencils to finish it. I was so aware of missing my friend that I couldn't stop my mind from running all over the place. While coloring, I tuned into the feel of the crayon in my hand and the sound the pencil made on the paper. In a few moments I was back to present, time had passed and what do you know? My friend called.

Let us not forget, our friends......

Tonight I was given the opportunity to take my good friend to coffee and dessert for his birthday. While we sat and enjoyed the ambiance of the busy restaurant, I became acutely aware. Aware of what, you ask? Was it the bustle of the servers? The aroma of the food? The delightful flavors dancing on my taste buds? Those were all there, yes. My awareness was on my friend and how he intently hung on every word I said and in turn I spoke from my heart. I found myself listening to him with just as much intensity, watching his expression and joy in sharing his tales of military weapons.      I realized that this person was a huge part of my life tools! I was aware of the love that he contributes to my arsenal and how it is ever present. In the past I have not always called upon this tool, due to being super woman and all. How my life has become much easier and full of bliss with my heart open to receive and share with him and many others who care for me. So, when searching for a tool. Let us not forget our friends. How grateful I am for all of them!

Coffee is good, but TUT is better

christi, wasn't it clever of me to think you up? I mean, come on...

Never has there walked the face of the earth someone who thinks with your degree of insight. Who loves with your degree of care. Or who feels with your degree of hope. Story Time

Today I had another doctor appointment. This would be the now fourth one in the past month for the same injury. As I drove to the doctor's office I could feel my anger growing. I began feeling like nothing was going to be any different. The thoughts were swirling in my head and I began speaking them rather loudly and angrily out loud. While listening to myself, I stopped and said allowed "Wow, Christi you are really stuck." I had to laugh due to I am constantly encouraging those around me to write their story the way that feels best to them.
Right in this moment I began using one of my life tools known as Access Consciousness. One of easiest things about this tool is that you just start asking questions. Such as "What is the possibility that this doctor will hear what I have to say?" " What else is possible to use for this pain besides pain medication?" " Where am I holding myself in alignment with the idea that this needs to be difficult?" The other part of Access Consciousness is the clearing statement. Which is as follows " Can I uncreate and destroy all that this is? Yes! Times a god zillion please ,good, bad, right, wrong, POD, POC, all nines, boy, shorts and beyonds. Thank you.

Yep, sounds crazy I know. For me in that moment it was exactly what I needed to write my story in a new way and uncreate the old version. I found the new office first try. The medical assistant was very kind and compassionate. Wait for it! The doctor was AMAZING! She heard me, I mean really heard what I said about what goes on in my body. When she offered me an anti inflammatory with a kick, I could hear my story ramp up again, which was all good. I repeated the clearing statement and opened myself up to the idea of a new experience. Guess what?! For the first time in two months I felt some real relief. YAY!!!!! I am so excited to be on my path to push up's, plank's, and writing ton's of letters to my pen pals. Woot Woot and she lived happily ever after, right that's how you end a good story? Oh wait my life is not a fairy tale, so how about...... and she lived every moment present and aware. Okay and happy ;)

I say again. REFRAME IT

I see cute pictures like this and am always intrigued by what message will accompany them. When I see that they are full of what I would consider a bunch of "negative" buzz words, my brain is quick to act. My big beautiful brain will sort for what is "not" being said.
With this little message in my head I picked up the book I have been reading, okay so I just opened my kindle app on my phone. I started reading and within a few pages came across this " The spiritual warrior hides from nothing. We jump into the fire, we dive into the ocean. We become the sea. In fact, we are already part of the sea of all creation. It's only an illusion that keeps us apart. To allow ourselves free-flowing energy is to say Take me. I surrender.I'm open to feeling everything inside. This does not mean we are without discipline or good judgement It means we fear nothing that is human or natural"- If the Buddha Dated , chapter 7
So, I say bring it on! Bring on the worry, I will sit quietly and dive deep into it and come up with the bubbles of truth that lie beneath. I invite you to join me in the deep end of the ocean my friends. Let's play <3

Lemonade

There is a saying " when life hands you lemons make lemonade". That is all fine and well, if you like lemonade. Me personally, I  prefer raspberries or strawberries with a hint of lemon. Oh yeah, I get that it is just a saying to put a crap situation into perspective. I would like to suggest that when life presents you with a precarious situation that is disguised as crap/lemons. You pause and throw some gratitude/raspberries and positive intention/strawberries in the mix.
I am constantly suggesting to the people I work with whether it be client or co-worker to speak with an intention that they would like to have manifest. Yep, it is known as the law of attraction. Think about it. When you speak, who is listening? The people around you, who else/ You here your thought quietly in your mind before it ever comes out of your mouth. Then you speak it out loud and you are actually hearing it consciously or not you are hearing it. With this in mind you can shift many things, past hurts, new ideas and greatness. You might miss the shift at first, stay in your awareness and you will see the gifts that you have created.
So when life hands you lemons, throw in what makes your bliss sing!

Choice and Consequence

  • Yesterday I was given the opportunity to spend time with a friend. As we laughed and shared our day the night crept on. Typically this is a fabulous thing, this happened to be a work night. I checked the clock and it was ten, very near the time I go to bed. My soul had a joyous buzz going on and I made the conscious choice to continue visiting for another hour. At the moment this seemed like no big deal. I drove my friend home and by the time I climbed in bed it was midnight, no biggie. I sleep deep. Uh I was all jacked up on joy and soul buzziness. It took me an hour to wind down and fall asleep. The bottom line here is that I was able to sleep for three hours before waking to primp for my 12 hour shift. I was bright and my joy continued to flow as I readied for the day.
  • Once at work I started to recognize that I was participating in severe "ditsy" behavior, or sleep deprivation. I had a couple things I could do here, whine or move on. I chose to use my experience from the night before to fuel me on, remembering the cute and humorous things we had shared. The interesting thing was to hear several of my co-workers express a lack of sleep also. Here I was in the perfect moment of discovery! I was able to be aware of the words coming out of my mouth and how others spoke of their weariness. I noticed that we are an  amazing team of people, sharing our lack of sleep and laughing at the forgetfulness and silly behavior that comes with it. This was all going great until about 1500 or three p.m. and out of nowhere I hit the proverbial WALL . Okay, okay it wasn't out of nowhere we all knew it was going to find me at some point during my shift ha ha ha. You may ask what I did? I reached into my arsenal of love, also known as my little pouch of rocks.  What I chose is referred to as "poppy jasper" this is the intention it travels with
  •  Poppy Jasper is a variation of Brecciated Jasper characterized by orbicular patterns of bright red “poppies” amid mottled shades of brown, black, yellow or white. A joyful stone associated with poppies and remembrance, Poppy Jasper brings cheerfulness and vitality, reminding humanity to help one another. This stone can be gently stimulating, or fiery in passion and intensity as needed. It provides the impetus for variety and new experiences, and encourages the development of fresh ideas.
  • I put it near my skin and for the next several hours I was able to continue on bright and cheery. The tools you choose to feel your "arsenal of love/tool box" will be there when you call on them, so grateful for my poppy jasper today, a great evening last night and the awareness to see the joy in my consequence.

The Art of Patience

Welcome to Friday! I currently have very little patience for anything! I have been allowing a situation from last night to slime it's way into today. I am irritable and grumpy :(. How is this serving me , you ask? Let's start with the presenting problem. I had a friend say they would call me back in two hours to check on me due to having a rough afternoon. And the expectation has been created! Damn, silly DUH moments. The reality of it all is expectations are one of the BIGGEST'S life happenings in ourselves that create suffering. So "Why" am I still hanging on to this? Great question hahaha. 1) awareness of what I want to continue to work on  2) opportunity for growth (btw my computer froze right there and I was threatening it's life)  3)to remember I am a spiritual being having a human experience  4) so I had something to blog about ;)  5) to practice my life skills, so far the one that is working best is to remember a feeling only lasts 45 seconds. You see the multi purpose healing that is occurring from one simple event? I have had to count to 45 a few times. I am also using EFT and breath work and discovering some fabulous things about myself. YAY for growth. Love it

Snuggle Buddy

After the end of a long term relationship, I found myself wandering the aisles of Walgreen's. I stopped in the aisle that had the Valentine clearance items.I could feel my emotions start to bubble up due to being on my own for this day of lovers. I assumed a squat position as to hide myself and the tears that were beginning to form. When I looked at the shelf in front of me I saw this adorable little face peering back at me from the pile of rummaged through animals.I reached back and grabbed him and hugged him, inadvertently pressing his paw. This little guy began to giggle and purr causing his body to shake. I was holding him on my chest and his love could be felt through my heart center.I smiled and of course adopted him on the spot. He has been with me for over four years now. A little worse for ware and he no longer giggles or purrs. The love I found from this little stuffed animal that day has brightened my hard days more times than I can count. He was a great addition to my life tool box! You can find him in my Amazon store. I am working on adding more " Snuggle Buddies". Yes, I am a grown woman and even us grown beings need a good snuggle :D

Rocks aren't just for skipping

I asked Cole if he had a favorite rock for me to blog about. This will be the first of many blogs that will be about rocks .They are an amazing gift from mother earth to have in your arsenal of life tools, or arsenal of love as I like to refer to them. There is a huge movement of healing that has been going on for decades where crystals and semi precious stones are placed on chakras to balance the energy.
I think I have always loved having a rock in my pocket, on my finger, around my neck or wrist since I was young. I had no clue about the properties they carried for healing This aspect became more clear when I spent two years in a "healing the light body" course. We were instructed to bring three rocks with us each time we met. Some people spent a lot of money on them, me I picked up the ones that followed me home hahaha. We quickly learned that the Inca Elders in Peru (shamans/medicine men) used stones in their own personal healing. This empowered the rocks, shifting the name respectfully to a healing stone. This is not required for everyone. There is much mysticism and theory behind it all.
Alright now that you have a little background info, lets get back to Cole's choice. He said " Tiger's eye, you would bring home rocks and I would always look forward to tigers eye. It made me feel tingly and happy." Here is the awesome part of what Cole was feeling. One of the properties of tiger's eye is; Emotionally-tiger's eye balances yin-yang and energizes the emotional body. It alleviates depression and lifts moods. Tiger's eye combines the earth energy with the energies of the sun to create a high vibrational state that is nevertheless grounded.  (the crystal bible pg 289)
What Cole was feeling was the energy that it took to create this beautiful golden colored stone. I often have had people say " but Christi I am not in tune with stuff like you are?". And my answer to this is, we all have different and unique ways of drawing to us what our beautiful inner self requires. If it is pretty and makes you smile, GREAT! If you enjoy the texture of a stone, the shape or even possibly the earthen smell, WONDERFUL! If you are still wanting guidance? Ask, I am here to help.
Enjoy and have fun with it, that is what rocks love ;)

A good read

Today has been fairly uneventful. I had the opportunity to start reading a book that I have read several times before "If the Buddha Dated" I would like to share the following excerpt
Enlightenment is not about becoming divine.
Instead it's about becoming more fully human.
It is the end of ignorance.
-Lama Surya Das, Awakening the Buddha Within
It is my desire, that through loving kindness and the sharing of my wisdom that we can all become more enlightened and awake our inner beauty and light.

Quick question

Do you ever find yourself waking from a blissful sleep only to be bombarded by every random thought in the universe? My focus for today will be "How" to utilize what we have available to shift this. Ideas welcome!

When all else fails, ask for silence

Have you ever had one of those moments when you remember something you had promised yourself you were not going to do again? Today is my Friday and after 32 hours of mental health clients I tend to need my level of patience refueled. This means all I want to do is go home, have a smoke and chill.
My son offered to drive me to work, due to his need to use the car. This my friends began the thing I had forgotten. He is always up and ready to go in the morning, bright and cheery " Have fun at work mom. I love you." Sounds awesome, right? The challenge comes in his follow through to pick me up on time. I was off at 1530 and he didn't show until 1600 (grr). My fury has been building for half  an hour now! I stop and breathe and do my best to calm my rage, which is not working. I can feel that there is more going on deep inside than what the surface is showing. When he finally arrives I am HOT and in no space to talk.
I start sifting through my arsenal of life tools. I come up empty handed , well I have a full grasp of fiery scorpio rage, not something I want  to share with my beautiful teenager. I keep searching as Cole is explaining himself . You would think that would help. The two of us were now stuck in an ego battle. Me being the mom and right and him being the one who knows "why" he was late and also right. And in a flash a passage from a book flashes in my mind "when all else fails, ask for silence".
One, two, three I count my breath and center to calm my voice. I ask for him to shut up. Oops, that didn't work. I can feel the rage and ego still bubbling. Deep breath, hand on my belly, beat of my heart,BREATHE! I adjust my wording " Cole please stop talking to me. I am angry, tired and want a smoke." That was a start. I ask once again adding "Cole please I just need some silence and I promise I will talk to you later about my anger." We ride the next ten minutes in silence. Be aware that if you are anything like me your ego is going to attempt to talk right then. Be in your silence. I learned far more than I expected.
If you are curious to know how powerful this moment of silence was for me and how grateful I am for the ego battle with Cole, please ask.

Family

You may wonder "how?" family can have much to do with awakening your innate wisdom. Yes, there is much research about where you fall in the family and the role you take on. The lessons you learn from watching your parents relationship or lack there of. The type of family I am speaking of is the one you create.
I am unclear where I learned this concept, possibly from my parents being divorced and adding new siblings such as a half or a step brother or sister. I think that somewhere in my heart I knew that these labels created a separation within the structure. I chose, to do away with them.
I taught this same concept to my boys. The three of them each have a different dad. In the growing of our family we have added several of their long time friends. What has happened has been amazing! They have had arguments with their friends about half siblings and labels and how that doesn't flow in our house. With this knowledge these young men have taken the message home and my boys have been treated as family from their families. We continue to practice this and our family is growing..
I am reading this and wondering what my point is? Ahhh yes, I do have one. I work at a mental health hospital and so many of our clients come in lacking family support. I invite them to consider staff their family while they are staying with us. I invite you to do the same in your life and watch your family grow and see what awakens within you.

Truth

Someone once said " There are three sides to a situation, your's, mine and the truth. This is an important thing to remember when you feel as if others are looking down upon you. Before you choose to take it personally stop to consider 1) their truth or perception of you 2) your truth of who you know yourself to be 3) the truth of the situation at hand.
We all come from different walks of life, with different experiences. Some have been brought up in abuse and some in love and grace. We would be wise to look upon the person in front of us with the idea of " Namaste" in our hearts. Meaning " The Spirit within me honors and respects the Spirit within you."
Namaste to you all!

If you can reframe it you can change it!

After my quick little blurb about reframing yesterday I thought I would find some more info to share.  It has been observed (by my mom) that I tend to simplify things. With this in mind I went searching for a site that could explain things in a simple fun way  reframe.thnk.org  Be sure to share your any questions you may have and any new experience.
Enjoy

Welcome to the day

Ahh yes another morning, one day gone another right here for me to enjoy. This is a lovely thought, yes? When I opened my eyes , a headache greeted me, burning eyes and a barking dog. I can feel myself start to shift from the place of bliss I just came from into one of super grumpster. I am not fond of the super grumpster mode. You may think that there is nothing to do but be grumpy, annoyed, agitated or any other discripter you can think of for an off moment.
This my friends is where you pause, breath and ask questions. Deep breathe in or a little one. I like little ones myself for this situation. Now I ask.....did I smoke to much yesterday? .....did I sleep crooked?....was it the honey? Now I listen and breath some more. I want to say right here that this takes only moments. The word honey pops into my head and I did have honey in my tea. I choose to take some deep breaths and ask my body to balance that (there are many way's ask me) and I am up and ready for coffee! My headache is dull, but my eyes don't burn, oh but the dog down the street is still barking.
And enter my 18 yo son. He walks past my dog's to get in the shower. No he does not let them potty because his awareness is not the same as mine. I generally get upset at this moment. Not this morning because I too am working on personal growth and peace with in, so I breathe. The breath is one of your easiest and quickest tools to grab a hold of literally! Put your hand on your belly and breathe deep until your hand moves. When there is nothing else there is breath and in the past 15 minutes since my son woke up I have been breathing deeply :D

Intention

I love that my simple mind can read so much more into this blog title than the two words presented. " The awakening" sounds so intense or cliche or possibly over done. My intention is to be a valuable tool along the path to your awakening. I have found that there are multiple levels to an " awakening", some are tossed at us from birth and some we pick up from heart ache or hard times. I personally started straight away from birth, although I was not conscious of this. I am interested to know how you have found yourself awakened to new choices, life paths and growth. Tell me more !
